Cruised into Adelaide as the sun was coming up. We decided not to bore you with any more sunrise/sunset photos. Wrong!!! We did it again, sorry.
Great reception at the Adelaide port, an Aussie band (The
Eucalyptus) were on the portside balcony
playing a series of traditional Aussie songs (The Wild Colonial Boy, Click Goes
the Shears et al). It really got the
passengers ready for a day in town. There
were many excursions from wildlife, beaches, wineries and town tours but we’d
seen many Adelaide attractions so we went into the city. Got the train from the port for a 30 minute
ride in. The Fringe Festival is on so
there were buskers and performers throughout the Rundle Mall. We wandered around like typical tourists,
through town, down to the river then came back to the ship about 3.30. Had a walk and a swim then got a drink and
watched the action as the ship pulled away from the dock and set sail west for
2 days at sea till we get to Esperence in WA. The captain warns the seas may get a little rough sailing across the Bight. In his words,"Ladies, hang on to the handrails or hang on to your husbands, which ever makes you feel safe". I'll let you know which option Pam takes!!??

Hi Pammy ideal opportunity to just accidentally nudge him over the side whilst you cling to the handrails! I notice there doesn't appear to be any stories about walking on the machines anymore, not a case of PTSD? How long do you spend in each place? Currently watching the Storm/Dragon game, very close at the moment. Do you get the games on the ship?
ReplyDeleteTrish, I have missed many such opportunities!!!! It's that bloody Catholic upbringing!! We arrive in most ports about 8 in the morning and leave by about 6 each evening! So we have all day in each place. They have organised tours but we didn't do any for Melbourne or Adelaide. It is nice to see the coast of Australia from the sea although we have not had good weather since leaving Wellington, mainly cloudy but we are actually sailing into a storm at the moment! Lots of thunder and lightning around but the seas are still relatively calm! We find cruising very relaxing but have done very few of the activities so I told Vernon we were going to do something today! So he chose beer tasting!! Idiot! Anyway, hope all is well at home!Love to everyone! xx
ReplyDeleteSo obviously he is going to come home with big elbows!
